Resco Model

Go Solar, Pay Only for the Power You Use

Driving India’s Solar Future

Under its various renewable energy initiatives, the Government of India has launched several schemes aimed at building a sustainable and self-reliant energy ecosystem. These initiatives are closely aligned with the Paris Agreement, targeting the installation of 175 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022.Such proactive policies have created strong and favorable conditions for the rapid growth of Solar RESCO projects and photovoltaic (PV) installations across the country. Moreover, factors like frequent power outages, rising grid electricity costs, high solar irradiation levels, and declining solar energy prices have further accelerated the adoption of Solar RESCO models, making them a practical and profitable solution for modern energy needs.

What is Solar RESCO

The RESCO (Renewable Energy Service Company) model is a solar business approach where the project is developed under either the OPEX or CAPEX model. In the OPEX (Operational Expenditure) model, the solar plant is owned, operated, and maintained by the developer, and the consumer only pays for the electricity generated — with no upfront cost. In the CAPEX (Capital Expenditure) model, the consumer purchases and owns the solar plant, while the EPC company handles design, installation, and commissioning. The RESCO framework thus offers flexible ownership options to suit both investment-free and asset-ownership preferences.
